Danager
I was wondering if you needed any sort of permit to bivy on mt. Stuart during the summer. Cheers

pcg
Actually I don't believe you do. The summit and the approach from Ulrich's and Cascadian Couloir are not in the permit zone.
kurthicks
It depends on where you plan to bivy. The north side approach requires a permit if you're down in the meadow, but it is not required up by the glacier or on the mountain itself. TwoFortyJeff
Just to clarify so you don't get the wrong idea and get a ticket... you DO need to self register for a permit at the trailhead because you are entering the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. You do NOT have to go through all the hoops to get an Enchantments/Stuart Zone permit.
