JasonG Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Wondering if there is enough room on the summit of Dumbell or Greenwood for a small BD firstlight? Heard there was on Dumbell, but the map makes Greenwood more of a likely candidate. Thanks for any info! Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Dunno about your question but hope to see a TR soon :-) I'd like to get those two... and around this time of year seems a good time for it Quote
lunger Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 As I recall, there should be some spots close to the summit of Greenwood, maybe even a cleared one on the very top--but I might be switching it up with Dumbell (we daytripped them both on long summer day). But pretty sure Greewood is better...sorry for rusty memory. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 dumbells bigger but harder to get to. greenwood is. rocky ridge - spots a bit below perhaps the saddle has spots Quote
JasonG Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Excellent guys, thanks for the info! Headed up tomorrow so will hopefully report back in a few days. Quote
JasonG Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 As Tvash pointed out, the best sites are a couple hundred feet below the summit of Greenwood on the summit ridge, lots of flat space for tents of any size. The summit on Dumbell has space for one bivy sack comfortably, but even a BD tent is too much. TR to follow in a few days... Quote
