kevbone Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Heading to Smith Rock next weekend and would like to climb in the Marsups.....and would like to cross the river and not have to hike around. Anybody have any information on the current status of the river crossing? Was there in Oct and we crossed the river just fine. Thanks! Quote
ivan Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 bet it'll be fine - still, you trying to shoo your kids across it? Quote
matt_warfield Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Hike around. Good for you and good for the kids. A little effort is good for your health instead of trying to cheat nature. Quote
luvshaker Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 The river has been running around 150 cfs, so you should be fine in several places to cross. I tested out an old 2x4 between the rocks on a Jan day and took a nice swim in the Crooked. I climbed the rest of the day in my spare poly tights and friends wool jacket. Felt like 90's again. Quote
kevbone Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 Who is taking the kids? This is a no kid weekend. Hence the river crossing. Thanks for all the beta. Quote
