VW Bus Camping at Squamish?

Hey all,

 

Just a quick question about your thoughts on the best place to camp with a VW bus at Squamish. I've been there twice before, but was denied climbing by the rain. It'll be my first multi-day trip there.

The spit where people go kite boarding or anyhwere up Manclam Road.

unless something changed in the past year, plenty of people were camping in vehicles in the overnight parking lot last time I was there.

Just back from 3 days in Squamish in my camper. The Spit is my favorite place. The pirate campground up the Mamquan has a grim looking population of folks of questionable character.

I've slept in the grassy area by the picnic tables by the climbers bivy a few weekends this year with no issues. I don't set up a tent or anything though, and am usually gone around 7am so YMMV
