rob Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 DOMA is unconstitutional The 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston said the Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman, discriminates against married same-sex couples by denying them federal benefits. It's strange to me that people in this day and age still publicly support institutionalized federal discrimination of an entire minority segment of our citizenry. But, I guess people fought to keep schools segregated, too. Weird, though, isn't it? If I were that much of a bigot I think I'd just keep my mouth closed. I mean, who wants to be remembered for fighting against a civil rights movement? Quote
