Plaidman Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Has anyone got a set of the new Fixe Aliens? If they are in the Portland area I would like to see them. Quote
murraysovereign Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I've got a bunch in stock, so now you've got one more reason to come up to Squamish this weekend  Quote
Plaidman Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 I'd love to be in Squamish. Things I lack: Passport Money And I haven't earned enough dog points to convince the wife that it would be a good idea. Or even an idea for that matter. Quote
Pro Mountain Sports Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 We have them.  They are really nice. Everything that the old Aliens were but with the added benefit of being CE, UIAA and ISO9001.  http://promountainsports.com/index.php/alien-cams.html  Give us a call or order them online. If you want to see them I will be in PDX around 4/21 and would be happy to bring some down to you too. Quote
Plaidman Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Thx. That would be great. Just me know when and where. Quote
Pro Mountain Sports Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 If I bring them down will you buy any? Â What colors are you interested in? Quote
chris54 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I've read that totem basics are only slightly different. Why would you buy fixe at a higher price? I understand totem is limited in sizes right now. Anybody used both and can say ones better than the other? I'm assuming that may be what plaidmans goal is. Quote
Plaidman Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) Assuming is a dangerous endeavor. Did I indicate that I wanted to buy the Fixe Aliens? No I just want to look at them as I own the Totem Basic Cams. I am very happy with them also. Fixe is not make Hybrids but Totem Basic Cams come in Green/Yellow and Yellow/Red. And if you buy a set you can get a 10% discount. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Well there ya go. Edited April 4, 2012 by Plaidman Quote
chris54 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Oops! Worded that last sentence poorly. I was hoping that was what you were doing. Quote
Plaidman Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Hope harder. Just kidding! No harm no foul. Quote
Pro Mountain Sports Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 The Totem Basic more than likely will be going away. There are some lawyers on the scene both in the US and Spain. Quote
chris54 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I've read the same thing. I guess we should buy up the totem cams incase they do go away. Quote
boadman Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 David Wagoner's patents expired several years ago. What laws could totem be breaking? Quote
layton Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 regardless, it looks like Fixe has a better expansion range than does totem Quote
