kevbone Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 What is the climbing season there? Does it get much rain in May? Anybody been there? Thanks. Quote
pcg Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I can't speak for conditions in May, but keep in my mind that you can rent jet skis in Hells Canyon Reservoir and there is some fun DWS to be had... Quote
Quarryographer Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I like it there from September to mid June. Sometimes a bit earlier if it's a hot season. There's shady climbing to be had, but It's still a bit too warm for me in the shade after then. That said I've had awesome days Mid December, with long cold nights. Never seen it rain there, similar to the Coulee in that respect... There's a helipad about two miles from the climbing, and somebody found the up to date weather from it, but I don't know where that is. Quote
kevbone Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 Do you think we would run into snow and ice in the end of May? Quote
montypiton Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 snow and ice in Hells Canyon at the end of May would be possible, but very unlikely -- it got its name from being a hot place Quarryographer steers you right Quote

olive Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 We go to Hells from Boise, and it is almost always warmer than Boise. In may it is very unlikely to have snow/ice etc. Quote
