We climb every month of the year at Vantage, although rarely in the summer. For the winter we just check the WSDOT camera for Vantage bridge. If it's sunny therre, you're good to go. If foggy in the winter (which is not unusal on days where it's sunny everywhere else), forget it--that's numb finger conditions!

Why bother with the Vantage Bridge camera when you can practically stand in the Feathers parking lot with the Silica Road exit camera? And get your temp readings from this WSDOT page? Too warm for ice, today, and 36 seems pretty chilly for nubbin' tuggin'...

For winter climbing, look for highs upper thirties, sunny, no wind and check those traffic cams for fog. Vantage was awesome Sunday. Girls in tank tops, and a couple guys with no shirts. Just what the doctor ordered. Not sure what the actual air temp was, but I was too hot most of the day in sweats and a long sleeve shirt. There is a reflector oven effect that raises the forecast temperature. But, please, stay home and stay warm. We like our empty cliffs :-)
