E-rock
This is minor compared to the type of misconduct and daily disrespect that the RPD shows to the citizens of my fair city on a daily basis. In the officer's defense (and I cringe even being the devil's advocate for him), a very high-profile shooting of a police officer occurred two years ago while bystanders were gawking at an arrest and a young kid on one of the porches shot an officer in the head with .22. The RPD may be touchy about bystanders at arrests due to that incident. But if you're black and poor in this city, the police are your enemy, regardless of whether or not you've committed a crime. And clearly the cop was out of line in this situation.

Off_White
Thanks for the follow up. Seattle cops have done much the same thing with folks who've supported the family of the native woodcarver who was shot to death in broad daylight by a rookie officer here. JosephH
One of these cases is going to get to the Supreme Court and probably sooner than later. We'll then see if free speech extends to more than political contributions.
