sobo Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 So it seems I have to go under the knife in early June, and the doc is telling me that this is gonna hurt for a while afterwards. Since last year's climbing season was such a bust, what with my divorce and all, and it looks like if I don't get out over the MD holiday, then it will be another bust season. Since this will be my first time out this year, I'm looking for some mellow cragging not too far from the car. Lightning Dome in Idaho is my first choice, but I could be convinced to go to Der Town (Pearly Gates, Goat Dome, Icicle Buttress, SCW, Castle), WA Pass, or the Tieton. I'd be looking to car camp for a couple nights. When I'm in shape I lead both trad and sport in the low 5.10 range (hey, I'm old and no longer bold), but at this juncture I don't think I wanna be leading anything over 5.8. My head's just not there yet for the harder stuff, but I will thrutch my way up it if you ropegun me. Any takers out there? Sherri? minx? Kurt (Hicks or Feck)? Summerprophet? kevino? Bala? Toast? Dane? pindude? Anyone? Quote
Dane Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Sorry Sobo I'll be in Boise, Sat and Sunday. Good luck on the surgery! Quote
rocketparrotlet Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I live in Everett and I don't have a car, but I'd love to spend a weekend in Leavenworth if you would like. I lead about 5.7-5.8 trad. Quote
pindude Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) Paul, Sorry you have to go under the knife--heal fast once you do. Me, headed to Canada, or skiing, if I get my chores done. Edited May 25, 2010 by pindude Quote
mkporwit Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) Paul, I'd be game for a day of climbing. Easy trad? We can fantasize about Kinga Baranowska together Edited May 25, 2010 by mkporwit Quote
sobo Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Marcin, I wanna go for more than a day. It's prolly gonna be the last climbering I'll be doing for a while. Quote
kurthicks Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 not gonna happen for me either amigo. sorry. I'm going to be wandering around the North Cascades in the rain with some clients--hopefully on something interesting, but we'll see. Quote

sobo Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Sorry for not updating this and thanks for all of the responses here and of course the PMs. I have partnered up for the weekend, and "multi-pitch" Tieton is in the forecast. Quote
