pdk Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Spacing on the name of the place everyone stays at in Lillooet... anyone? Quote
G-spotter Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 This place is on a bench above town, but nice if you want a quiet sleep http://www.travelinbc.com/Retasket-Lodge-and-RV-Park-Lillooet.cfm there's also the Vic Hotel and the Jay Gee, never stayed there yet though Quote
Matt Kidd Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Mile-O was the cheapest with the 'Ice Climbers Rate' and had a book at the desk with route conditions. Quote
northvanclimber Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) the rates at the mile-o have gone up: 75/night with climbers discount i believe. still a bit cheaper than other places... Edited December 23, 2009 by northvanclimber Quote
Jens Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Mile O was the cheapest last year. (I stayed at Reynolds, Mile 0, and 4 Pines all last year). Reynolds= one can stagger down to the bar and restaurant if they are so inclined, 4 pines= nicest rooms, Mile O= cheapest? SuperDave and I stayed at the Mile O last night. The owner quoted me 79 Canadian but I got him down 10 bucks to 69 as their were a lot of cars in the lot. If the lot was empty, I'd wager he'd go to 59, (I am usually pretty good at wheelin' and dealin'). Quote
fern Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 There is a suite in the 2nd floor corner of the Mile 0 with 3 beds in 2 rooms plus kitchenette. We got it last year at the same price as a regular room (of course it was AFTER all our friends had already booked in ). At Mile 0 the housekeeping staff may come in and turn off the heat in the middle of the day - sucks when you are trying to dry gear on a multi-day trip, or just want to come back to a warm room. If you are going to be climbing mainly at Marble Canyon / O-Jack etc. consider staying in Cache Creek. The Sandman Inn there is good enough for J-Lo .I stayed at the Tumbleweed once and it was cheap and quiet. No matter where you stay though the restaurant options are dire. Quote
pdk Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 Mile O quoted me at 69. Asked for a "multi-day discount" (we stayed 4 nights), got it at 60. It was slow - christmas. 4Pines quoted 75, wouldn't budge on the multiple night thing. Quote
