billcoe Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 What the fu*k is up with those crazy assed Canadians? Is it an inferiority complex and they have to try to come up with their own damn names for everything? [/exaperated rant] Quote
Pete_H Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I think its the Americans that are constantly bagging on Canadians that have the inferiority complex. Quote
olyclimber Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 WHATS UP HOSERS. here is required reading kids. do your homework: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacon The term Canadian Bacon or Canadian-style bacon must be made from the pork loin, and means back bacon,[13] but this term refers usually to the lean ovoid portion (m. longissimus, or loineye).[9] It also can be made from the sirloin portion of the loin (gluteal muscles), but must be labeled appropriately. Similar products made from the ham are used as less expensive substitutes. Basically, Canadians prefer to eat the pigs crotch. But actually: The term Canadian bacon simply means bacon from Canada, though whether the product was entirely reared, slaughtered, cured, sliced and packed in Canada is not normally made clear on packaging. However, it is not particularly common nor regarded as different from other bacon so Canadian Bacon is a term that wasn't coined by Canadians. Quote
G-spotter Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Back bacon From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search "Canadian bacon" redirects here. For the film, see Canadian Bacon. Cured back bacon, sliced Back bacon is bacon prepared from centre-cut boneless pork loin. The name refers to the cut of meat, which is from the back, and distinguishes it from other bacon made from pork belly or other cuts. Like other bacon, back bacon is brined, cured, boiled, or smoked. It is much leaner than streaky bacon, and is sometimes sold in the US as Irish bacon or Canadian bacon, owing to the popularity of back bacon in those countries. "Canadian Bacon" can also mean a round, sliced and usually smoked ham product sold in many parts of the United States.[1] In some parts of Canada, back bacon is prepared and sold as peameal bacon. The name reflects the historic practice of rolling the bacon in ground dried yellow peas. Today, however, it is almost always rolled in yellow cornmeal. Quote
RokIzGud Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I was in Cananda a few years back a wanted a pice of pepperoni pizza, I counted my canadian money so i had enough (pizza with toppings cost more than cheese). I knew i had enough for a slice with pepperoni but when the lady said she was out. I started to panic inside my head. Unaware, i bluerted the question of asking for a pice of Canadian bacon. "Your an american arnt you" she asked in a snobby voice "we only have ham". I was glarred at the rest of my meal. Quote
