Buckaroo Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Freddy Nock on the 995-meter-long cable of the cable railway on top of Zugspitz mountain, Germany, for a new world record. Quote
pink Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 whose gonna be the first jackass to say that's not even a slackline and mention about how some dude used to walk a cable from wind tower to the bastille. cool pic buckaroo... thanks for sharing! Quote
Buckaroo Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 the photographer tilted the image, it would look even steeper if the horizon line was straight. I think it's the upward angle that would make this difficult. Plus just the endurance, that's 3,265 ft. Wonder what the vertical gain is? wonder what the wind factor is also, they must wait for a dead calm. What if the maintainance man left a big splotch of grease somewhere along there? Frenchy Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 fake. not a slackline. not cool. this guy had bigger nuts Quote
JosephH Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Unguyed cables, uphill - that's a solid walk. Not sure what 'world record' as I'm pretty sure there have been a couple of longer walks decades ago in Europe by a pair of brothers who stopped and ate lunch in the middle. Spectacular photo of them doing lunch above this Valley. Don't think the image is on-line yet though. Quote
denalidave Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Wow! You can really see how steep it is in the video. Quote
shinsain Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) Man it's nice up there. Was up there in '96. Didn't see anyone tightroping though. Edited September 15, 2009 by shinsain Quote
