pup_on_the_mountain Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 The person from the park I spoke to on the phone said I'm not allowed to sleep in my car overnight in the Paradise parking lot (I was advised to get a camping spot). Something about Paradise Valley Road was mentioned as far as overnight parking goes, but I couldn't get the full details. Is there a place where one could sleep in their car overnight inside the park (as close as possible to Paradise)? I think I can use some of the pullouts on NF 52, but that is outside the park. Quote
chrisr Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 There are overnight parking spots that I've used, and seen many other people use before just off of the Paradise parking lot. With the recent construction I wonder if they're no longer there?? Quote
ScaredSilly Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 It used to be that you could sleep in your car if you were arriving late and leaving early. Probably no longer an option. Park at the waste station just down from Paradise again arrive late, leave early. Quote
Off_White Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I've stayed in the bathrooms with a party of five, but that was both midwinter and a long time ago. I've also schlepped up to Glacier Vista to sleep, but that was also winter. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I've tucked into the Westside Rd turn off after dark and left by dawn ...once. Quote
