cemmes Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I've never been down there and was wondering if its the kind of area the gets any snow and if it is climbable this time of year. Anybody know what elevation it is at? Anybody been there recently? Quote
scottb Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Climbing at callahans is possible just about any time of year. I think the elevation is around 2500. I was there back in January and there was no snow, though it's possible a snow pack has formed since then. There was still snow up there around this time last year but the rock was still climbable. billclimbs Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Was there last weekend. Just a couple a tiny patches which is unusual. The rock can be damp depending on what you climb but there is plenty of good dry climbing. Elevation is 22-2500. Quote
cemmes Posted April 20, 2009 Author Posted April 20, 2009 How does that elevation compare to Flagstone? Tried to get up there and see if the road is clear yet last monday and was only able to make it 10 miles up quartz creek road. Quote
luvshaker Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Flag sits at around 4000 and change. No poison oak, lots of anoying black flys, and lots of snow most winters. Quote
