tvashtarkatena Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Trip: Snow Lake - Date: 3/8/2009 Trip Report: On my mini skis (90cm x 110mm). The absolutely sucked in the bottomless powder, but I had to give them their winter conditions coming out party. They didnt' suck as bad as the parking lot traffic home due to a big accident on I90. But mainly, I'm just messing with Ivan by posting this TR. Gear Notes: Real skis recommended Quote
scheissami Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Snow conditions/stability? Thinking about heading up for some turns later this week... Cheers! Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 five to six feet of continuous snow before the first rain layer. which isn't pronounced. Good pow now, avo advisory was in effect Sat but no slides seen Sun. Bonding seems good, but if it warms up at all it might be best to stay away for a bit and let all this new snow do its thing. Fairweather Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I've got a pair of those K2 "Fatty's" I've packed up to Muir a few times, but I'll piggy-back here for compare re snow conditions. We skinned up and skied down Suntop on Saturday. It's getting thin below 3000', but there was almost 2 feet of new above 4500. 2hrs 50 minutes up; 30 minutes down. Had the place to ourselves. Weather turned from sunny to shitty 50+mph wind in about 10 minutes around 11am. Quote

Are you planning on outlasting dirt? While you're in here spraying, Charlie's out there getting stronger.... Quote
