eldiente Posted February 2, 2009 Share Posted February 2, 2009 Myself and Winter climbed some very nice ice on the shoulder of the Spur on Saturday. Very good stuff there, fat maybe 5-6 different flows in good condition ready to be climbed. N.Face looked good with the gullies having obvious flows coming down. Everything is either blue ice or rock hard neve. There was a bit of small rockfall coming down the Spur, mostly from the wind. No signs of icefall, very cold which helps. We were up there and just about froze our asses off and then retreated back down lower and climbed one of the other flows. Great stuff. Fat conditions. Cold ... brrrrrr ... climbing in full on puffy. ivan Posted February 2, 2009 Author Share Posted February 2, 2009 that's the one - the spur wall blocks the wind though, which was a big deal last time i was up there - also it's flat, which is important if you didn't bring The Nitro(!) to blast out a platform why didn't ya'll do the n face chris? or the elliot headwall for that matter!
