Safe Travel at High Altitude

Tuesday, February 10

Mountaineers Building, 7700 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle

7 pm.

Free show - all are welcome

Got plans to climb at high altitude? Not sure how you or your partners will tolerate high elevation? Then come hear this talk from local physician Andy Luks and learn all about important issues that can affect any trip to altitudes above 8,000 feet. Dr. Luks has conducted four field research studies, two in the Alps and one in Nepal. In 2003 he was physician in residence at the Himalayan Rescue Association station in the Khumbu region of Nepal, on the approach to Mt. Everest. This past summer, Dr. Luks was head of a medical mission in Ladakh, India. Altitude illness is serious business, and the best defense is knowledge. Come get it from an expert, and along the way see some great photos of amazing places.

Nobody else in Vancouver wants to go to this show?

What if he does a show here? Anyone in BC interested in this presentation if we can get Dr. Luks to do one in Vancouver?

For those who can't make this date at the Mountaineers, the lecture is being given again at the Seattle REI on Thursday February 12 at 7:00PM. It is also free to the public.
