kevbone Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I think steve is truly one of the best ever in just shear talent. [video:youtube] Quote
bradleym Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 ok fine, his technical prowess is truly impressive, but frankly i'd rather stab out my eyes with a fork than listen to him for very long. Quote
Skeezix Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 He needs to play fewer notes ...with more emotion, and remember to wear a shirt. Quote
Dechristo Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Analogous to how Kevbone believes he's the best lover because he can jack-off the fastest. Quote
kevbone Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 I think he plays with a ton of emotion, plain and simply one of the best. Quote

I just think he is an amazing guitar player because the doesnt just shread like Ingwie....but plays with alot of soul combined with talent. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Steve Vai rocks. He plays with plenty of emotion. That being said, I wouldn't listen to him 24/7. Quote
kevbone Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 I agree. I do not listen to him 24/7, from time to time it is nice to watch a master. Quote
hafilax Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Do you listen to any music that isn't antiquated? Quote
kevbone Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 Do you listen to any music that isn't antiquated? You are going to have to be more specific. I do not think his music is obsolete. I listen to just about everything except indie rock and country. Quote

hafilax Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 That video is from 1995; 17+ years ago. I haven't seen a single music reference from Kevbone that dates any more recent than that. I listen to old stuff too but it's new music that gets me excited. I can't listen to the same old stuff over and over like that. Post something from Chinese Democracy for all I care. At least it's new. Dragonforce has some guitar wanking if that's what you're into. Quote

hafilax Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Did Lars magically learn how to play the drums? I've heard it's actually pretty good. Quote

I like alot of new and old stuff....I just happen to be crusing around utube and came across some amazing guitar playing.....I thought I would share it with you. I have seen steve Vai twice live, he is amazing. I also like Frank Zappa....they have alot in common. hafilax.....do you play an instrument? Quote
hafilax Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 It's that every guitar related post you make is old stuff. I just want to know if you listen to any new bands, like one that doesn't have any recordings prior to 2000. I play guitar, that's why the only reason I click on these things. I think I've posted this before. I'm the one playing the SG: [video:youtube]6ALLXy6Zd14 Quote
Skeezix Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I'm not a Steve Vai fan, obviously. I view him as a noodler. So I'll shut up now and let the rest of you enjoy him. Quote
