Bug Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Make your day! I don't know much about this program but it seems like it would be effective with my daughters. Quote
max Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Starting a discussion about Make Your Day with a group of educators is sure to bring out some... contention. I work in a classroom that uses Make Your Day. My take on the program: + Encourages kids to make self assessment regarding behavior. + Is progresssive in that small infractions merit small adjustments, large infraction merit large adjustments. + Emphasizes learning fundamentally what constitues appropriate behavior, rather than learnig a lst of rules. - effectiveness depends heavily of teachers committing to and consistently implementing program - is another "program" teachers (and students!) must attend to. pc313 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 (edited) What was wrong with the RED,BLUE,AND GOLD STAR SYSTEM? Or the HAPPY FACE,SAD FACE CHART? Good teachers are a plus, and kids enjoy class, bad or boring teachers on the whole have difficult kids! Favoritism as in a teachers pet is a big no no,and sends the wrong message to the rest of the class! The same rules apply at work with good or bad bosses, and brown nosing back stabing cocksuckers! DIE, BOB JOHNSON DIE!!!!!! Edited November 27, 2008 by pc313 Quote
billcoe Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Yah, what was wrong with the old "arbitrary and capricious" teachers just beat your ass program of olden day? Always with these new programs. Side note: only whacked both kids 2 times total for both. Turned out great. However, there were damn strict rules which were well understood by both sides and kids, and they were so well behaved. Because there were clear rules, expectations, consequences and benefits. hmmm...... Have the same thing with the mutts, but they still piss on the carpet. Quote
