jmace Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Any one ever tried putting gasoline (auto) into a dromedary ? I need a collapsible jerry can and the ones I have found are $$$ You think the gas would eat through a dromedary meant for water..I read they are super tough ? Thoughts ? Quote
hafilax Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 The Source bags are made of polyethylene which has "good" chemical resistance to gasoline according to this website. Maybe a chemist can clarify. http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/peh-chemical-resistance-d_329.html Quote
Choada_Boy Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 MSR says they are lined with food grade polyurethane, which has "excellent" resistance to gasoline. My only concern is that the membrane layer is very thin, so an older bag may allow for leaks, as it would with water. Quote
