ptownclimber Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Looking for ideas and suggestions on where to get some turns in over the next two months. Had a great ski on snow dome yesterday, and have skied many times in July, but never as late as aug/sept. Quote

mattp Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I've skied the SW Chutes on Adams, and the Fryingpan on Rainer in August and found them to be pretty good. For September ski trips I have had more "mixed" results but I have had fresh snow on the Muir Snowfield once or twice. Quote
Snowman_Jim Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 The north side of McLoughlin and the east side of Diamond both have lots of snow left. August is probably a possibility on either or both this year. Quote

AlpineK Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I've had fun skiing on Rainier in August. This year it should be good, or at least reasonably good. September is a tough month for skiing. Generally you've really got to want to ski in September. Of course if you're into the turns all year thing then it's a must do. Quote
pete_a Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Hadley Peak and the Coleman Pinnacle vicinity (both north of Mt.Baker) hold relatively smooth snow through the entire summer when there's been a good winter snowpack. Spray Park/Flett glaciers/Russell glacier (north side of Rainier, Mowich Lake TH) also are good places to look for late summer skiing. Quote
