vegetablebelay Posted February 21, 2002 Posted February 21, 2002 "By purchasing the Alpine Trekker, you have made a commitment to high-performance backcountry skiing. The Alpine Trekker is the finest alpine touring adaptor made, and is backed with a one-year warranty. It is designed for use in climbing and traversing only—and must always be removed prior to downhill skiing." WTF? How can you have made a commitment to high performance skiing and not go downhill?!?!?! Quote
specialed Posted February 21, 2002 Posted February 21, 2002 Because you take them off and use your regular bindings for going down the hill bro. Quote

Bronco Posted February 21, 2002 Author Posted February 21, 2002 I have not done it, but I have heard of people skiing down whithout removing them. It's hard on them though. Quote
AlpineK Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 You will break em if you ski down on them. They are cheap though, so if you or your friend wants to check out AT skiing with little commitment then they are a good choice. At least as long as you already have a downhill setup. Bronco Posted February 22, 2002 Author Posted February 22, 2002 OK OK OK - I'll just give them too you- for $100 bones Quote
b-rock Posted March 4, 2002 Posted March 4, 2002 My 2 cents, these things rock, relatively speaking. Not quite randonee but a great getup to getup there if you have the DH setup. Plus a DH setup is way more fun for the descent... A bargain considering the MSR $180. Quote
Bronco Posted March 8, 2002 Author Posted March 8, 2002 thanks b-rock ok folks I'd also consider trading these guys for a new 60m or 70m dry rope or other? Quote
Bronco Posted April 10, 2002 Author Posted April 10, 2002 Just in case anyone missed it the first time around. I'd also consider trades on larger sized cams in good shape. Quote
