rob Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 In Chapter 7, Solove contends that the law should recognize privacy in public. How could such a protection work? Would this prevent people from taking and disseminating photos of others in public? Although there may be instances where people expect some degree of privacy in public, there are also other instances where people can't plausibly have privacy in public. How can such situations be distinguished? Discuss. Quote
Sherri Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Is there going to be a test on this? I don't test well. Quote

Discuss. it's getting to the point where there is no privacy at all. and i am not sure there is anything we can do about that. the planet is just getting to crowded for there to be personal space. rob Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Would a moderator please remove my posts? I don't appreciate them being exposed on a public forum. TIA. Quote
olyclimber Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 well if its on the internet, its a matter of public record. its being archived away http://www.archive.org/web/web.php I'm just glad I don't post with my real name. No one will ever suspect that "porter" is really Darryl Cramer. Quote
sk Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 the more i read this the more i realize that the real problem isn't what the internet is capable of... it is that a) some people actually waist time and energy caring what other people think and b) people can be down right mean. c)people are not bright enough to realize that any image can be photoshoped and just because someone posted something on the interweb...does not mean it is true. what my dad told me when i was a teen still holds true. 'believe nothing of what you read and only half of what you see (in person)' Quote

Gary_Yngve Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 The website http://www.juicycampus.com/index.php has ruined students' privacy so much that now there is a backlash, with college students wanting to ban the site! They had the ultimate freedom to post anonymously about who was sleeping with whom, and the public nature of it (even though it's not google-able) scared them silly! Quote
