beta on Izaccihuatl and El Pico De Orizaba?

I'm looking for beta on route conditions on Izaccihuatl and El Pico De Orizaba. We are planning on the La Arista Del Sol route on Izaccihuatl and the Jamapa Glacier route on Orizaba. plan on summiting between February 7th to the 12th. I'd appreciate any current feedback on the routes.

The yare the ones who own the old sopa factory and can shuttle you up to the hut.

I'm shooting for the end of Feb. and have been in contact with the Reyes - they answer emails quickly (servimont).

The hut has has mice that eat everything and get in your face while sleeping.

Dude, Contact Sr. Limon. I will see if I still have his card at home. He is a lot more personal than Sr. Reyes, but that's just my opinion. Sr. Limon has private rooms to stay in instead of a dorm. And he f*cking rocks.

We liked The Reyes deal. And we also took a tent rather than staying in the hut with all the people acclimatizing (i.e. barfing, nursing headaches, suffering).

Yep the hut sucks, bring a tent. A cheaper option you can get a taxi from town to Hidago for I think, I payed 90 pesos. From there it is a 4 or so mile walk on a road. I also stayed at a small hotel in town that was basic but nice. I think it is one block down the main road from the Pemex station on the left (130 pesos. The normal route was in great shape as of the 15th. There was no crevasse danger to speak of. Oh also no ATM in town. Also the food was horrible at the white house where all the gringos are known to eat. Have fun!
