A bit of that cultural feeling is lost and the whole idea of looking at WWI from the perspective of the "enemy". Quote

He's hoping someday to attend a real 4-year university, obtain a meaningful degree, and, if he can somehow compensate for his brain damage and mental deficiencies possibly, shall we dare say it, even qualify for an invitation to join Phi Beta Kappa. A bit of that cultural feeling is lost and the whole idea of looking at WWI from the perspective of the "enemy". the '70s version of the film w/ john-boy from the waltons did a better job of doing just those things i recall - somehow putting it in color made the lack of reality of the battle scenes worse - the black and white's more artsy, plus in the original they really did just blow the living shit out of several acres of hollywood great find on the picture pat - that's exactly it, and you can't be for any war and not have to wear those fucking glasses at least a little bit Quote
