Remember when people just minded their own frikn business..you should try it you may find life happier

Lemme guess - you are the jerkoff talking on the phone with his boss not to fire him (true), his gf not to dump him (true), his lawyer regarding details of his case (true) who is pissed because other people hear his conversation in the airport or on the bus?

Sometimes when I see people on their cell phones while out climbing I have this wild urge to rip it out of their hands and smash it against the rock. Huge pet peeve. Remember a whopping 20 years ago when they didn't exist? I know it's a crazy thing to imagine, but everyone managed just fine.

i rarely bring my phone on long climbs in squamish, but i feel differently about it in the mountains. for instance, i told everybody i should be back at a certain time, i was not, so i called from the summit ridge, and everything was ok.

my phone stays on silent when i'm up there, and my partner doesn't object. and if he does, too bad.

if (s)he's the one who gets injured, it's a lot quicker most times to run up to the top and call for help as opposed to running 15kms back to the car (depends on where one is).
