ZimZam Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Wow. Great TR and the Milky Way pic is really amazing! Quote
Steph_Abegg Posted July 28, 2007 Author Posted July 28, 2007 the Hoh approach looks alot better than the Queets/Kilkelly approach I tried and failed with. You're the first I've heard of anyone trying Kilkelly Creek as an approach. It looks rather steep in that area. How far up Kilkelly Creek did you manage to get? Quote

jmhalange Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 A couple of years ago we did a trip starting from the Skyline trail and dropped down to the Queets just west of Kimta Pk and then back up to the Valhallas on the ridge about 1k East of Kilkelly Cr. It went well and I would do it again. The lake at 4617' is a great camp. Quote
OlympicMtnBoy Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Wow, what an awesome trip, you pretty much did the route I've been thinking about for the past couple years. Awesome pictures. BTW, is that Doug Ray with you? Do you still post here Doug? We should get out on something some time. I also saw your Buckhorn-Warrior TR and actually we were out that same weekend, saw where you signed in on the trail register. Of course we were carrying big steaks and a cast iron pan so we didn't make it much past Tubal Cain that day. ;-) Quote
Steph_Abegg Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 BTW, is that Doug Ray with you? Yep. Couldn't have asked for a better partner for this trip! Quote
