Dechristo Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Just get the Cliff Notes version. Oh, I forgot, you're writing them. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 Come on man, give it up. That wouldn't be fair to all the others who solved their puzzles the hard way. And I'm all about fairness. Quote
kevbone Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I'm all about fairness. Ill remember that. Quote

foraker Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 pamela + nine - melamine - ? + ? - (el or l) + LA Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 You're getting closer. It's not melamine, though, but that's close, too. Quote
lI1|1! Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 You're getting closer. It's not melamine, though, but that's close, too. it sure looks like melamine: melamine i feel so stumped after my streak. i did figure out LA though. Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I cant figure out how it isnt melamine either Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 Look more closely. One of things, is not like.... Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 Oops. You're right, they just didn't explicitly show the carbon atoms. Well, it's also 'supposed to be' melanin, which is the correct answer, mmmmckay? Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 The carbon is implicit in the other models Quote
lI1|1! Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 = someone who once spoke at the national press club Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Apparently your reference (http://www.brookscole.com/chemistry_d/templates/student_resources/shared_resources/act/photochem/photo2.html) is wrong, as the structure of melanin has only been inferred and is far more complicated than melamine. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 OK, melanin is a family of larger molecules the manifest in the various pigments with the basic building block being melamine. Hence my confusion. The molecular diagram I posted was titled 'the structure of melanin', so I took it at face value. Some knowledge is only skin deep. Carry on. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 (edited) Either that, or she spoke at the Tion Res Lub. It won't be long now... Edited January 18, 2007 by tvashtarkatena Quote
