Climbing does not specifically put sprain on your ankles. More on your upper body. If you had week ankles before you started climbing, you might experience discomfort from climbing, but does not necessarily be from climbing. Does that make sense? Are you ankles hurting?

No, unless you fall on them or sprain them, but it doesn't really strengthen them either

yes it's a serious question. i don't mind the spraying, obviously i put it in spray. i am having problems with my feet. this guy i used to climb with (old dog/hardman) used to tell me that climbing made your ankles weak. not a stupid question. i thanked ML beacause i definitely agree that climbing doesn't strengthen your ankles. otherwise i would have some burly ankles.

dude, get serious. if you're rock climbing, of course it'll strengthen your ankles! you're exercising them throughout their range of motion!

 

repetitive straight in crack climbing might lead to overly stretched ligaments though, just another reason to stick with sport climbing!

of course you know what your talking about. a spring only stretches so much before it wears out.

 

i can't think of any reason to sport climb other than to be seen you little bitch.

you better watch out for your ankles then, fella. i'd suggest you just remain seated in that big ol' armchair of yours, and keep 'em elevated.
