WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

"Correction. The doctor has failed to climb the mountain twice before.

I don't want to offend you, but I'm forced to say...

...I don't consider a record of failure automatically grants you the right to lead."

:battlecage:

I don't like you on my flank 'cause it scares me.

I don't like being scared.

If you ever come near me again, I'll kill you.

Understand?

Yes.

Good boy.

We'll make it.

maybe if those guys on hood had trained on the totem pole like eastwood they would have made it. sunny desert sandstone is ideal training ground for the spider

Yeah - but only if you haul beer in your backpack.

You ever notice in the desert scene that when the shots are from below (and you can't see the guys face) the climber is actually leading; but when it's a close up of Eastwood he's somehow leading on toprope? That always cracked me up.

That's one of my all-time favorite Clint dialogue exchanges.

Yeah, but I thought you'd draw the line at ice. ;)

Oh my gosh! Is that true? You must be the first person ever to notice!

Hemlock: This is Henri Baq. I had a bullet in me once. He carried me for 3 days. I owe him. He was a friend.

Jemima Brown: Who's that man?

Hemlock: That's Miles Mellough. He tipped off the people who put the bullet in me, an enemy.

Jemima Brown: And him?

Hemlock: That's Ben Bowman. He and I climbed a lot together.

I'm going out to his climbing school and get in shape.

Jemima Brown: Friends, enemies. Where do I fit in?

Hemlock: I'm sorry, but you don't. Here's to the selfish killer and the patriotic whore.

Jemima Brown: Do you have anything else to say to me?

Hemlock: I usually keep a twenty in the bowl by the kitchen door. You might pick it up on your way out.

What can I say - I'm an astute movie critic. Ask me about the red car in Ben Hur.
