Tony_Bentley Posted November 30, 2006 Share Posted November 30, 2006 Get a metal scraper and clip your skin reverse on your ski and start scraping. You will end up scraping some of the skin glue off too but there should be enough left for it not to be a problem. If it is a problem then just get some more skin glue. It is a good idea to keep a kit that includes a flie, scotch bright pad, rub on wax, p-tex candle, regular wax and scraper. That way you can just ask a shop to use their iron and you have the rest to take care of business. Too much wax is often worse than not enough wax. I've never had fat skis before and my trusty ski scraper isn't wide enough, so I end up doing a bad job scraping. Which has lower melting temp - glue or wax? tvashtarkatena Posted December 4, 2006 Share Posted December 4, 2006 If you do the paper trick, strip it off before the glue/wax re-solidifies or some of the paper will stick to your skins. You will probably loose some glue in the process. Have some extra on hand. Go with a colder temperature wax. You'll have less of this kind of problem.
