KaskadskyjKozak Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 so what is a racist then? I don't buy the argument that if you use or ever have used a racial epithet that you are a racist and are just showing your "true feelings". In this case, it's more than one epithet, but it is entirely plausible that the guy went for the jugular, using the most hateful language that he could think of, to attack the hecklers in a fit of rage. If the guy were racist, I think somebody would have picked that up somewhere along the line in his career. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 i've heard that as a whole, those russkies and chechnies and their ilk are pretty racist. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 i've heard that as a whole, those russkies and chechnies and their ilk are pretty racist. I've heard that Buddhists as a whole are extremely racist. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 pffff. more russky ignorance. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 pffff. more russky ignorance. speaking of ignorance Ukraine is not Russia and "russkij" ne ye ukrayins'kyj. Ty duren' ta vse. Quote
JayB Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Obviously the most powerful word to use against white people is "racist" How about "Tax audit", "Flat tire in Compton at midnight" or "President Condeleeza Rice" Scarrier: "You are under arrest for a violation of our hate-speech laws." Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 ah russkies or ukrainies, what's the difference? they're all from the same bad genetic stock. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I cannot fathom a deeper fear than being arrested for calling kaskadhkhdshgisj a russkie. Quote
mtn_mouse Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 What we say in anger is often not a true representation of what we believe. If it were, many of the folks on this website would be in dire need of some serious psychiatric help. Good point. An occasional outburst is just being human, as evidenced here on this site. Most of the folks here are not as crazy as they come across, are they? (Arc, we're not talking about you as far as you know). Quote
Dechristo Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 my subjective definition of "racism" differs from convention, in that, it doesn't only include assumption of superior/inferior characteristics, but includes any differentiation made on race recognition. The same applies to misogyny and differentiations made on gender. People differ in their abhorance of different differentiations. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 ah russkies or ukrainies, what's the difference? they're all from the same bad genetic stock. Kind of like gays, eh Herr Schokolat? Quote
Dechristo Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I'm in the leadership of a growing militaristic organization that recognizes that people who wear dark-colored underwear are genetically inferior, are the scum of the Earth, and a threat to western civilization. "They" do this to hide the fact that they are unclean. We call them "mud people". Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 that's very subjective indeed. keep in mind that the notion of "race" itself is (my subjective analysis) more a symptom of a particular developmental phase of human consciousness than any real indication of substantive difference. KaskadskyjKozak Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 appropriate language shift. You figured that out by yourself? You're swift Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 evidently you didn't. on the contrary, it's clear that you were lost in the nuance of this little exchange. a pity, I assumed you were a more capable interlocuter of spray-quality barbs Quote
Dechristo Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 that's very subjective indeed. keep in mind that the notion of "race" itself is (my subjective analysis) more a symptom of a particular developmental phase of human consciousness than any real indication of substantive difference. objectively, differentiations are simple observations of distinction. subjectively, differentiations made on any basis creep into the human consideration and struggle for a framework of Right and Wrong. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 objectively, differentiations are simple observations of distinction. But the observation of that "distinction" is subjective, no matter how well agreed upon. The idea of "distinction" is subjective, in my thinking, since if there wasn't an observer with a particular make-up/predisposition/orientation, then any "differentiation" would not exist. Quote
Dechristo Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 you mean like, one observer would make a distinction between a carbon atom and a helium atom while another observer would simply make a distinction based on arrangement of subparticles while another would make no distinction seeing it all as facets of the Whole? What are you, a misologist? Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 quite an illogical leap there, brother. Are you a misologist or something? Quote
