The really funny part is where he said in his speech: "we've learned the lessons of the past" (in reference to the Vietnam War) then related that to Iraq by saying: "we will succeed unless we quit". Isn't that hammerheaded ideology the same one that was used during 12+ years of futility in Vietnam, when we thought we could just kill all the "bad" people so the "good ones" could live in peace and freedom?

Futility? What about Pho?

Now Iraq, that's pointless. I can already get shwarma right down the street.

Another difference: In Vietnam we would have had to kill about a million NVA and VC with our half a million troops, 2 to 1, to 'win'. In Iraq, that ratio is now about 50 to 1.

Good luck with that, Georgie boy.

I love shwarma. When I lived in NYC I used to eat at Village Shwarma at least three days a week. Best shwarma ever, nothing I've found in the NW can hold a candle to it. Seriously.

Wow, I didn't know there were that many NVA and VC in Iraq. Bush has done us all a favor though, without him, the house and the senate would probably not have both changed hands this month.
