toast2586 Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Hello! I've recently moved to Seattle from mid-state NY where I fell head over heals in love with climbing at the Gunks. I'm in need of a/some west-coast climbing partner(s). I can comfortably climb 5.9's and I have all my own gear plus an ATC and a couple biners, but no rope. I have followed lead climbs, but never actually lead myself, but I would love to learn. I'd also be up for just some hiking or scrambling..and I'd love to learn to ice climb once the season rolls around here. I know little about where to go out-side of Seattle, so just give me a time and a place and I'll be there! Thanks! -Monika Quote
OrganDonor Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I'll be your partner. I climb sport. Want to learn trad eventually. Also like to ski mountaineer. If anyone wants to get out let me know. Of course if it ever stops raining. I'm up for whatever. Lead upto 5.9, Follow 5.10. Quote
Sherri Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 WTF? what's an acolyte? Way to call it, Toast! I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't know what an acolyte was. Dictionary wasn't much help("a liturgical assistant"?? ), so I assumed it implied partner of some kind? Sheesh. Now I feel all obtuse. Quote
Macson Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acolyte_%28disambiguation%29 I think he means a "devoted follower" or "attendant"....referring to the other Toast. Anyway, I'd go climbing but it just seems a little wet around here right now. Quote
fenderfour Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Wow... ummm... I'm just going to leave it alone. Quote
