BTW, MOS, I learned this the hard way. Wire brushing will smooth the rock out and make the footholds slick. Get yourself a natural bristle broom and brush like a palmyra bristle job, it will do faster job, and won't screw up the route.
Does it depend on what sort of rock it is, Bill, or would you recommend natural bristle no matter what?

 

Bill has climbed on rock that isn't basalt or tuff? yelrotflmao.gif

The wire brush is only for moss removal. You are more patient and carry more brushes than I if you do that with a poly bristle.

But you are right, I use the poly for the final cleaning. thumbs_up.gif

I think Carl's "Warren Harding Gift Pack" was the funniest (especially with the tagline about adding wine), but then, I'm from that era, and it resonates with me.
