Low point in my climbing/skiing career: was heading up the logging road to Shuksan, about a year and a half ago, late evening before a March ski trip up the Sulphide. A bobcat suddenly appears, and the car goes bump. We get out, and the puss is dead. We were bummed. The next day, the trip up was ok, but tough conditions for skiing (blue ice on the summit pyramid, tough with crampons on tele boots & only one screw). Then it started raining just as we hit the summit, and wet slides covered our up-tracks on the way down. We drove out and the dead kitty was gone, probably eaten by a coug. We were just happy to get out of there safely after thoroughly trashing our karma....
