I was wondering if anyone has any information on how early its possible to get a car to Cold Spring on the South side or Killen Creek on the North. Also how far can you go up the road now?

B-rock is right. Smith Butte is a "reasonable" trailhead right now, but the regular South side road to Morrison Creek is usually open by June, and the higher Cold Springs trailhead by late June or possibly early July. For more discussion, search old posts. This inquiry pops up on this board at least every couple of months.

...as noted on the GPNF website, the Smith Butte Sno-Park is not really open - as it is blocked by snow about 2 miles short on 82. This sunshine may change that though...

also there is a gate that is right after the pavement ends on the south climb road that will not be opened until most of the snow has melted from the road. this is to prevent the newly graded road from being damaged. i am guessing late june by the amount of snow up there. the road around the north side will probably be blocked a bit longer.
