whidbey Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Climb: Mount Rainier 6/22/06-Emmons Date of Climb: 6/22/2006 Trip Report: For those of you considering this route right now it's in great shape. The route is very direct and crevasse crossings are very reasonable. More of a route report than anything. Only real beta is .... At the top of the ramp follow the boot tracks striaght up. Don't follow the boot tracks that go to the right. Some ice up high but all very reasonable. Gear Notes: poons..rope.. Approach Notes: White River trail is dry for first two miles. Snow from there. Follow the river bed up when you get out in the open near glacier basin. Quote
whidbey Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 My bad... kaskadskyjKozak... I was looking for a partner and astrov from the board took me up on my need for a climbing partner. Had a great time. The route could be done solo though if that is your thing. Nothing to crazy to cross from top to bottom. I can't imagine the route in much better shape. Maybe it does get better but I can't imagine it being much better. Quote
astrov Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Whidbey, thanks for leading the charge up the mountain. I had a picture of the route to put in the gallery but the upload turned sour. The route is indeed in great shape though. Ski it while you still can! Quote
