WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Thought I'd pass along this little gem:

My friend and I were on our way down Muir snowfield sunday, after climbing DC Cleaver that morning. Around panorama point, a pretty young lass looked at us curiously and asked, "Did you climb Rainier?" "Yes." "So...they let you come down at your leisure?" "Uhh....yes."

Did it dawn on you that she was trying to make conversation? Did you get a name and phone number? If not, you blew it.

A couple years ago I was up by the saddle between Pinnacle and Plummer, a pair of hikers asked me if I thought there were any snakes up there. Yeah, you gotta watch out for those alpine rattlers in areas that are buried by snow half of the year. [laf]
