Alpinfox Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Olympia climber reaching for the last of the afternoon light, 600 feet off the deck on Lovin' Arms: to Tim and Tony who shared the route with us. Here is a trip report from my first trip up DHLA in Oct.2003 with Mr. Peru: LINK Quote
MisterMo Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Industrious! Great photos; I see you got your pano. It certainly was busy up there, looked like a ladybug hatch: ITW rockfall aficionados can see where the original P2 of Town Crier, which now litters the forest below, used to be. This is a crop; full res on request. Quote
olyclimber Posted July 18, 2006 Author Posted July 18, 2006 Thanks Mayor Mo. Such a fine town you have there. Quote
olyclimber Posted July 18, 2006 Author Posted July 18, 2006 Yes, I took a brazillion photos. Compare your photo of yester-year to mine from today(well, this past Sunday). Obviously I need to get a little closer in to reproduce the angle exactly. Quote
catbirdseat Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I'll be damned! That's amazing Oly! Let's do the Time Warp! Quote
Alpinfox Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 These two images were taken about the same time: Quote
olyclimber Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 Prolly because I'm such a newb, but this link up is by far the funnest thing I've done to date. What is better? Quote
mattp Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 In my opinion, it is the best 5.10 climb in Washington. Best I've done, anyway. It is a "linkup" in name only. Nobody has probably climbed the finish of Davis Holland as it was was originally done for 20 years or more, and ALL parties who complete the route do so via Lovin Arms. We maintain two separate names for historical reference only and, perhaps, the fact that many parties bail after the first three pitches. Quote

Bug Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Prolly because I'm such a newb, but this link up is by far the funnest thing I've done to date. What is better? I did it about ten years ago. It was mossy. Quote
