fettster
Which forest is 820 in? You may be able to check the web site for that forest, or call the ranger station for the forest, to get some info.

powderhound
I spoke with a lady at the ranger station and she said that all the roads should be open. So that is good news for anyone that wants to start climbing out there. Thanks dan for the number.

powderhound
Are you really sure you want to find the Turkey Monster? I don't just want to find it I want to find it, and spy on it, and capture it and hopefully free it( if you get my dirft ) Edited June 18, 2006 by powderhound
Checat
I'd believe the man. Having belayed him, as he onsite led four hard 5.10+ trad lines in an afternoon, I give him a fighting chance freeing the turkey. Must be somethin in the water in Montana. corvallisclimb
Yeah but this isnt some crag, its an 11a sandbag with 30 yr old bolts, some of them missing off the crux pitch. I seriously would not be surprised if you fell on P3 you would rip the pitch to the belay.
powderhound
Listen corvallisclimb i am not sure what you beef with me is but I am well aware that this ins't just some crag. Not your everyday joe talks or thinks about freeing an old aid line with gear and bolts he knwos to be suspect. However, your concern for my well being is greatly appreciated and thnak you for your thoughts and prayers. I'll be thinking of you from the top. corvallisclimb
No beef with you, I'm just putting the info out there for others, don't take so much offense! The only beef I have is with the turkey monster since it almost killed my friend.
layton
i'd rather risk it on a mountain than on an overgrown lawn turd.
retired
I wouldn't call Turkey an over grown lawn turd at the base,it might take offense and fall over on you. Powderhound go get it... just trying to let you know what you might be getting youself into. also you should inquire about the gate across 850 it's usually locked until July 31 Oh and one other thing, this hasn't been an old aid line since 1978
powderhound
thanks for the info, and the headds up on the road. Wasn't trying diss on it being an aid line or other indivuals who freed it, becasue I have a ton respect for guys/gals that can climb at that level in circumstances that the turkey monster creates. bryan
