jrs
Anyone been up Garibaldi via Elfin Lakes/East Face route recently. Any beta? Should we lug snowshoes (group of 6 not everyone has skis) -- Thanks
jordop
Kinda too late or too early for an enjoyable ascent. The final face is steep enough to make it not fun for snowshoes. The route down into ring Creek is also apparently a real mess now. From bivouac: Lottsa isothermics lately. Squamish mainline blocked:
G-spotter
You'd better have a sunny day and a clear night before an ascent. That will be a lot more useful than either skis OR snowshoes.
PaulB
Here's how it went down a couple of weeks ago for a group in which one guy was on skis and the other was on foot/snowshoes.
