Any one out there have any mystical, cleaver, or little known tricks to breaking in new mountaineering boots. I recently purchased a pair of Vasque Alpine GTX boots for a few climbs this summer, the first of which is Shasta in a few weeks. I have been wearing them around at work; they feel great but am curious what else can be done. My summer hikers are beat to hell but super comfy...I fear the day when they will have to be replaced.

Any help much appreciated!

Fancy modern mountaineering boots don't need to be broken in. I'd go hike in them a few miles on some up and down terrain to see if they give you blisters, hotspots, or other pains. If not, you're good to go.
