brad Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 hello all. an almost perfect weekend in leavenworth was quickly and completely tossed into the shitter when i realized after driving for a half an hour that i had left my pack at the pullout for stones throw, 8 mile buttresses, etc. so we turned around and within 1 mile we just about totaled the front end of my friends 4runner while smashing into a very large buck. making it back to the pullout, yep you guessed it, no pack. rope, rack harness, shoes, rotohammer, gri gri, ascenders, new jacket,EVERYTHING gone!!!! we got down at around 8:30 pm on sunday(last night, mothers day) and were back by ten. i have to imagine that whoever grabbed it wasn't doing so to steal my pack, they saw a pack on the side of the road and stopped. anyone out there happen to be that person? if you have my pack PLEASE PLEASE give it back. i will gladly pay you a finders fee and you can help yourself to the little bit of reefer i had left in the jacket. does anyone have any suggestions as to where you think someone would drop off something like that, ranger station, mountain shop, etc.? i thank anyone that reads this in advance for your help!!!! DirtyHarry Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 so we turned around and within 1 mile we just about totaled the front end of my friends 4runner while smashing into a very large buck.  fucking lame  You guys mamed and probably killed a large buck because you urbanite shitheads don't know how to watch where you're driving and now you're crying about your climbing gear? I hope that buck did some serious damage to your friend's gay-ass SUV. Assholes. Quote
archenemy Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 You're mad because you didn't booty the gear. Of course, I'm also pissed b/c I didn't get a buck last year and they just ran over it. Quote
googlebot Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 hmmmm...."little bit of reefer i had left"....then leave pack in the parking lot and then hit a deer. Reefer madness indeed! Â searching.... Quote

ARE YOU? by the way, do think the SUV was born gay? or do you have a rural, right wing evangelistic cure? Quote
catbirdseat Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Brad, I'm sure you learned a lot from your experience. First of all Harry is going to give you shit no matter what you do. That's a given. Â It really refreshing to hear about good people like Harlin. Quote

catbirdseat Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Harry, you never quite got over seeing Bambi's mother killed when you were a little tyke. I know, it hurts. Let's take this to Cafe Sensitivioso. Quote
archenemy Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 This would be bambi's dad. And vehicular hunting tags are spendy, eh? Quote

slaphappy Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 DirtyHarry/Pete  What the fuck is wrong with you? It was my 4-runner (and me driving) that hit the elk. (didn't see it long enough to know whether it was male or female) How dare you call me an asshole and assume I don't know how to drive just cause I had the misfortune of hitting the beast. Trust me I feel bad enough that he was crossing in the right place at the wrong time, he has more right to be there than I did, but... it sucked all around.  And yes my truck is good and fucked up at a really inopportune time, I am a contractor and really need my "gay-ass SUV" to tow a trailer back and forth to a major job, it's my livelihood. How affective of an attorney would you be if I ripped out your throat and chopped off your fingers? Fuckin big mouth know-it-all.  Suburbanite? No, Ballardite.  Pete, I have met you on a number of different occasions and we have climbed with a number of the same partners and you always seemed pretty laid back but it amazes me how much of a prick you are around this website. You and your cronnies think you're real badasses don't you? You're all fuckin clowns, one big joke. Dan, Rolf, Erik, Ben, all of you. Good climbers sure don't guarantee good people. Maybe next time (and there will be a next time) I'll show you how much of an "asshole" I can be in person instead of sharing a beverage or a toke, you fuckin prick.  I am so fuckin livid right now... celebrating my misfortunes... Â and a good evening to you too, ron. i simply disagree with the bolts next to protectable cracks that seem to be more and more prevalent in the area. Â pete's just surly 'cause he's cooped up with THE MAN all day and owns a rig that's a hair away from being a 4-runner. Â too bad about your rig. i hope you dressed out the carcass and took home some fresh meat at least. Quote
