roboboy Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Climb: Whitehorse Mt - Whitehorse Glacier Date of Climb: 5/13/2006 Trip Report: On Saturday Dan Smith and I climbed the Whitehorse glacier. We left the car at 5:30 am. After 45 minutes of bushwacking Dan was still smiling: After 2 hours Dan's smile was a bit more forced: Lower snow slopes: Sunrise on the glacier: Approaching the steep step in the upper glacier: Dan exiting the glacier: Final traverse to summit: We arrived on the summit shortly after noon: View of Three Fingers Mt: Descent was by the std route which seemed like an endless up and down postholing traverse over Lone Tree Pass. With Alps-like 6000 ft relief directly above Darrington and enjoyable glacier climbing, we both thought this is a fabulous climb. 11 1/2 hours car to car. Quote
DPS Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Nice trip report and photos. Thanks for a fun climb. Even the bushwhacking was enjoyable, sort of. Quote
