rbwen Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Gov. Gregoire just signed the bill eliminating the $5 parking fee at state campgrounds because it was driving people away from parks. I think Pesashtin Pinnacles opened on March 15th. At least one reason to climb there, now that there's no payment! rbwen Quote
knotzen Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Excellent! That was a stupid law, IMHO. So many of the state parks are used by locals or near-locals (i.e., climbers), that it just doesn't make sense. And people stop in for a picnic, to play, whatever. Good for her. And us. Quote
ivan Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 sweet -so does this mean i can cut 50 yards out of my approach to beacon rocK? Quote
magellan Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 ALL state parks will be free again next month. Quote

I just paid $5 last week to take my kid mountain-biking at St. Edwards. It'll be nice to go w/o shelling out cash every time! Quote
chelle Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Yeah. I can mountain bike again at the Wallace Falls area. I hated paying that fee. Quote
