JoshK Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 The glissade down snow creek glacier is a great one if it's covered with snow. In the condition it's in now, you'll do little more than tear up pants and your ass. Quote
Lambone Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 who the hell would ever glisade on their ass...??? we evolved with two feet for a reason...to ski! Â [ 10-24-2002, 03:25 PM: Message edited by: Lambone ] Quote
Beck Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 I bet the Mounties don't even cover standing glissades, too dangerous! Show everybody how to slide on their asses with axe in perfect self arrest position in case they actually get moving too fast! Quote
JoshK Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 Hey, you try staying upright with the ice the way it is right now. Quote
mattp Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Lammy - Don't glissade with the alumi poons. Sitting or standing -- take them off first. Quote
Beck Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 hehehe funny stuff! I've done both, depends on the conditions, but blueice glacier glissades- OUCH! To avoid the glaciers altogther you could run up the NW route on Colchuck, cross over to the gully up Dragontail, then work back along the plateau and drop off closer to Little annapurna- I think that looks doable from Little A, thought there was a shorty section of cliffy ramps you could either downclimb or rappel- I don't want to qualify that as good beta, as I've not been up on it to test its' doability and can't find my damn CAG right now. Lambone Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 shit now come on...do you really think I'd glisade black ice with crampons on Quote
Beck Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 I think I caught some whiff of sarcasm out of it, Lammy!! Quote
