olyclimber Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060102/ap_on_fe_st/mini_mountaineer I plan on taking my son the Cascade Trifecta as soon as he turn 5. Quote
whidbey Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I don't know oly... after reading the story I was pretty amazed and dare I say impressed with the kid. He's not like most kids... Most kids are normal. This kid has some challanges and he seems to be with the help of his parents making the most of them. Maybe the parents are overpaid yuppies... but I still have to take my hat off to them for trying... as much as it kills me to think they are doing the right thing. Quote
JoshK Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I know somebody with the same syndrome and it definitely puts a big load on the parents. It doesn't sound like they are overpaid yuppies considering he is a professor and thus probably does something more than your traditional overpaid yuppie. Who knows tho. Good job on the kid's part - it's a great experience if nothing else. Quote
RoastyJones Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 "Such people tend to have an intensity of focus, and typically don't do so well in social settings." He sounds like a bunch of my climbing buddies...hmmm Quote

magellan Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Bravo to his parents for not debilitating him by calling him special and teaching him to say 'I can't' in da local paper Quote
