I was wondering where y'all buy your food before you go on a climb??

Do you use a grocery store? What stores and why? Buy freeze dried thru the mail?? Go without? Do you stock up in bulk? What is the cheapest and best option for your buck?? just curious

What kind of climbing trip? For a several week expedition, I've bought through Backpacker's Pantry on the web. Most stuff these days comes from the local grocer (Trader Joe's or the Thriftway). For car camp trips to Squamish I just buy food up there...

i know, i know... people like me who go on expeditions every year must seem like a god to you little people out there but... yes, i just go to the grocery store like everyone else. I also put on my pants and crampons one leg at a time,too. I hope that makes me seem more human and accessible to you little people out there.

In El Chalten I recomend the grocery store about 500m from the campground. Pasta and Sauce. Chiles and Garlic to break the monotony. Of course prices and selection are better in El Calafate, but the drive is expensive.
