spicoli11 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I was wondering where y'all buy your food before you go on a climb?? Do you use a grocery store? What stores and why? Buy freeze dried thru the mail?? Go without? Do you stock up in bulk? What is the cheapest and best option for your buck?? just curious Quote
chelle Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 What kind of climbing trip? For a several week expedition, I've bought through Backpacker's Pantry on the web. Most stuff these days comes from the local grocer (Trader Joe's or the Thriftway). For car camp trips to Squamish I just buy food up there... Quote
griz Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 i know, i know... people like me who go on expeditions every year must seem like a god to you little people out there but... yes, i just go to the grocery store like everyone else. I also put on my pants and crampons one leg at a time, too. I hope that makes me seem more human and accessible to you little people out there. Quote
griz Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 i should add that i do get access to the pro series gu packets that none of you little people will ever see... let alone taste. now fuck off, i'm done talking. Quote

griz Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 if you put a lump of coal up your ass then you'd have diamond in a week or two... Â it might seem funnier if you took your midol. Quote

archenemy Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Nice autosig, Bob. Thank you for mentioning that!!! I was wondering if I was the only person who found that as unacceptable as writing something like "I hate niggers" as a signature. Not acceptable. Quote

cj001f Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 and far away from home. In El Chalten I recomend the grocery store about 500m from the campground. Pasta and Sauce. Chiles and Garlic to break the monotony. Of course prices and selection are better in El Calafate, but the drive is expensive. Quote
